Headquartered in Habersham County, GA, The mission of J M Smith Engineering, LLC is to provide top-quality design and consulting services for commercial, residential and industrial land development and municipal clients. The company will seek to provide these services in the most timely manner and with an ongoing comprehensive quality control program to provide 100% customer satisfaction. The company sees each contract as an agreement not between a business and its customers, but between partners that wish to create a close and mutually beneficial long-term relationship.

We have extensive experience gained while working for both large and small firms in all sizes of municipalities—from Atlanta to small towns. We understand the development and construction processes and how to accomplish the clients goals. We are committed to providing sound advice to our clients through every step of the design process.

We are able to provide a wide variety of services to our clients from both our “in-house” staff and a wide network of design professionals that concentrate on specific aspects of the design and construction process. As a result we are able to provide the same services many of our larger competitors would provide, but with a much smaller workforce.

We take great pride and ownership in our designs and are committed to ensuring that every project is something that both our clients and ourselves are proud to show others.

We are equally committed to the economy of the project. We understand that both “time is money” and that construction costs can vary widely on a project related to thought put into the design.

Our firm is a qualified service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) allowing teaming for more contracting opportunities with Federal Projects. We are committed to the community and the profession, maintaining memberships in NFIB, ASCE, NSPE, SAME, the SCARNG and the Habersham County Chamber of Commerce. We are licensed to provide services in multiple states.

Jason M Smith, PE graduated the United States Military Academy at West Point with a degree in Civil Engineering. After serving his initial obligation on active duty, Mr. Smith began practicing engineering at both small and large firms within Northeast Georgia.

Mr. Smith has experience on a wide variety of civil projects to include residential, parks, institutional, industrial, commercial, roadways, and public utilities. Using this wide variety of experience Mr. Smith founded J M Smith Engineering, LLC to focus on quality work and customer service.

Mr. Smith’s responsibilities include complete project design, construction management, project permitting, construction observation, and computer-aided design. He also prepares quantity/cost estimates and utility/drainage system analysis.

Mr. Smith has had a wide variety of experience on municipal projects to include public facilities design, park design, sanitary sewer extensions, storm water system design, and community master planning.

Mr. Smith has continued to serve his country in the South Carolina National Guard. He is a veteran with deployments to Somalia, Hait, Kosovoi and Iraq.
